This study investigates the interpersonal communication conduct of the Infallible to identify its underlying epistemic foundations, ethical principles, and practical methods. Earlier research in this domain has mostly described partial communicative behaviors without establishing a systematic analytical framework.
Methods:
Using a qualitative meta-synthesis approach, seventy-five peer-reviewed studies published in reputable journals in the fields of communication and Prophetic conduct were systematically selected and analyzed through thematic analysis.
Results:
Findings suggest that the communicative conduct of the Infallibles forms a coherent system integrating rational guidance, human dignity, love, justice, and divine intention as its epistemic bases. The ethical principles include conversational etiquette, fairness, honesty, forbearance, and the clear demarcation of truth and falsehood. At the methodological level, the Infallibles employed rational persuasion, indirect educational communication, nonverbal signaling, situational management, and corrective dialogue in conflict resolution. Three major thematic clusters emerged: (1) education, lifestyle, and family-social ethics; (2) methods of reasoning and their theoretical foundations; and (3) approaches to other religions and religious deviations.
Conclusions and Implications:
The study provides an integrated framework for understanding interpersonal communication within Islamic teachings and offers a conceptual foundation for developing Islamic models of ethical communication.
