Abstract
The rapid expansion of social media and its growing role in shaping public opinion, discursive competition, narrative conflicts, and cognitive warfare have highlighted the necessity of employing innovative strategies of Jihad-e Tabyin (explanatory jihad). The present study aimed to design a communication model of Jihad-e Tabyin in social media for realizing the objectives of the Second Phase of the Islamic Revolution Statement. In terms of purpose, the study was applied, and in terms of approach, it was qualitative. The research strategy was thematic analysis. The study population consisted of scholars and experts in communication sciences, media studies, cyberspace, cultural policymaking, and Jihad-e Tabyin. Participants were selected through purposive and snowball sampling, and theoretical saturation was achieved after conducting 15 semi-structured interviews. Data were analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s thematic analysis approach. The findings led to the extraction of 73 initial codes, 19 sub-themes, and 6 main themes, including cognitive prerequisites of Jihad-e Tabyin, content strategies, communication strategies, social media capacities, barriers and challenges, and the outcomes of Jihad-e Tabyin. The results indicated that the effectiveness of Jihad-e Tabyin in social media depends on enhancing media literacy, effective narrative-building, fostering social hope, two-way interaction, social networking, leveraging technological capacities, and managing challenges such as fake news, cognitive warfare, and social distrust. The final model demonstrated that Jihad-e Tabyin in social media is a multidimensional and strategic process that, through the integration of cognitive prerequisites, content and communication strategies, and the management of environmental challenges, can contribute to strengthening social capital, increasing public trust, enhancing revolutionary identity, advancing the objectives of the Second Phase of the Islamic Revolution Statement, and promoting Islamic Awakening. Furthermore, the model provides a framework for guiding society toward the realization of the ideals of the New Islamic Civilization.
