Abstract
The mass media have become main element in temporary age and have a lot of functions in human life. The development of producing genres and subjects in TV channels has resulted that the mass media organizations produce special programs. The establishment of News channel and educational channel in Iran is the suitable example of this specialization.
The extensive range of mass media and the difficulties arising from traditional education systems together with specialization of TV networks have necessitated a revision of the paradigm pertaining to education. This research has tried to take a look at media development discussions in order to make a survey of how to utilize mass media especially TV in the process of development, analyze U.S. educational media policies and priorities, and finally compare these with the ones adopted by I.R.N.A.’s Educational Network. The results show that since those U.S. channels and the Iranian one are categorized as educational and cultural respectively, a focus on modern forms of myths i.e. tales and media narratives can put favorable effect on I.R.N.A.’s future programs.
