Abstract

The new media paradigm, which has influenced by social media, plays a distinct role in shaping various aspects of Iranian society. There is a need for the IRIB to assess its current situation and align its visionary and ideological framework with this evolving media paradigm. The emergence of present-day reality of IRIB and its being Islamic characteristics is entirely natural in the current world, and comprehending this matter will contribute to the advancement and excellence of this media. To gain a comprehensive understanding of this situation and its associated conditions, the forthcoming research applies the Grounded theory methodology and Glaserian (emergent) approach, while examining relevant documents and consulting experts in the field of religious media. The research findings shed light on the categories, ideals, fundamental principles, and intrinsic elements of Islamic IRIB. These entries encompass aspects such as the "characteristics of Islam" like being primeval, the "relationship of media and religion" highlighting the power of media, and "religious television" emphasizing its integration with everyday life. Moreover, Islamic IRIB encompasses ideals of process-related, content, structural (organizational), contextual (governance), institutional (para-IRIB), and an audience-centric. Additionally, the emerging fundamental principles for Islamic IRIB includes the acceptance and redefinition of new concepts of religion, media, and audience. Moreover, among the inherent elements of Islamic IRIB, it is evident that contents should be produced righteous and compassionate, while rationality remains a crucial requirement. One of the notable outcomes of this research is the need to challenge common perceptions regarding the relationship between media and religion and instead focus on the "ritual relationship". Prioritizing ritualistic aspects underlines the empathetic mechanisms of the media, which are indispensable in the new media paradigm for the survival of IRIB.
